ITIS 2100 Using Web-Based Collaboration Services

This course provides a comprehensive study of Web-based collaboration in a Microsoft Windows environment. Students will learn how to use Windows SharePoint Services to create and manage team Web sites with business information from email services, spreadsheets, databases, interactive forms, wikis, blogs, workflows, RSS feeds, and the Internet.

ITON 1040 Using Virtualization

This course introduces the basics of operating systems virtualization. Students will explore operating system virtualization, virtualization technology, tools and techniques, and best practices involved with virtualization.

ITON 1610 Wireless Communications and Networking

This course provides an overview of wireless communications and wireless networking concepts. Students will study the protocols and functionality of wireless networks and equipment compliant devices. Students will use third party products in a Windows environment to analyze voice, video, and text processing for business information systems, home networks, and the Internet.

ITON 1620 Voice Communications and Networking

This course provides an overview of VoIP communications and voice networking concepts. Students will study voice and data as they converge into a VoIP and IP telephony architecture. Other topics include packet voice technologies, the operation of voice protocols, standards that define voice networks, and mainstream voice implementations. Students will use third party products in a Windows environment to troubleshoot and measure connection performance, as appropriate.

ITON 2030 Windows Vista Configuration

This course provices a technical level of understanding and experience in the areas of configuring, implementing, supporting, and maintaining Microsoft's Windows Vista. Topics include installation, upgrading, configuring, networking, security, and application installation.This course helps students prepare for one of the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist exams.

ITON 2031 Support and Troubleshoot Applications on Vista

This course provides a technical level of understanding and experience in the areas of supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft's Windows Vista clients in an enterprise. Topics include deployment, managing security, and managing and maintaining systems that run Windows Vista.This course helps students prepare for one of the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist exams.

ITON 2231 Configuring Microsoft Office Communications Server

This course provides students with the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to install, configure, implement, and troubleshoot Microsoft's Office Communications Server and its clients. This course helps students prepare for one of the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist exams.

ITON 2234 Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastucture Configuration

This course provides a technical level of understanding and experience in the areas of configuring, implementing, supporting, and maintaining Microsoft's Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure. This course helps students prepare for one of the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist exams.

ITON 2236 Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration

This course provides a technical level of understanding and experience in the areas of configuring, implementing, supporting, and maintaining Microsoft's Windows 2008 Active Directory. This course helps students prepare for one of the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist exams.

ITON 2237 Windows Server 2008 Applications Platform Configuration

This course provides a technical level of understanding and experience in the areas of configuring, implementing, supporting, and maintaining Microsoft's Windows 2008 Server Application Platofrm. This course helps students prepare for one of the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist exams.

ITON 2238 Windows Server 2008 Administrator

This course provides a technical level of understanding and experience in the area of admininstrating Microsoft's Windows Server 2008 environment. This course helps students prepare for one of the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist exams.

ITON 2239 Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator

This course provides a technical level of understanding and experience in the area of admininstrating Microsoft's Windows Server 2008 enterprise environment. This course helps students prepare for one of the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist exams.

ITON 2630 Converged Technologies Administration

This course serves as the capstone to the Administering Converged Technologies Certificate by providing students with practical experience that integrates previously studied skills and concepts. Students will use messaging and data collaboration software in a Windows environment to develop, implement, and document a variety of data transmissions to Web sites in a business communications system for information worker solutions.

ITON 2295 Operating System and Networking Capstone

This course serves as a capstone to the Microsoft Networking Concentration by providing students with practical experience that integrates previously studied skills and concepts. Students will design and implement a network system by analyzing a current system, defining new requirements, and reviewing and assessing technology. Topics include budgeting, project scheduling/monitoring/execution, documentation of the finished product, heterogeneous operating systems, security implementation, and end-user perspective. Students will use a heterogeneous variety of operating systems along with third party products, as appropriate.

ITIS 2350 Management of Information Security

This course provides students an overview of information security from a management perspective, as well as a thorough understanding of the administration of information security. Topics include planning for security and contingencies, security policies, development of security programs, investigation of security mangement models and practices, risk management, personnel security, laws, and ethics. This course helps students prepare for industry certification exams.

New Programs & Certificates!

Administering Converged Technologies Certificate

Course content will provide the knowledge and skills needed in administering converged data systems with vendor neutral software applications. It provides students with the practical experience of administering a converged business communication system with data in a variety of transmissions, such as voice and multimedia from wired and wireless transmissions.

The converged data system will reside on Internet Web sites under Windows Office Communications Server working in conjunction with Windows SharePoint Services to provide updates to images, log files, and device files from voice and multimedia compliant devices. Students will also use third party software products in a Windows environment to analyze wireless transmissions and voice connection performance.

Topics covered are VoIP, IP Telephony, WPANs (IrDA, Bluetooth, UWB, Zigbee), Wireless LANs, WMANs (Freespace, Optics, WiMAX) and WWANs (Cellular phone, satellite) and RFIDs.

Students completing the certificate will be prepared for employment within the areas of Information & Communication Technology Specialist, Home Technology for integrating home communications systems, and Telecommunications Specialist supporting voice, data, and video for businesses.
